Designed with special-needs families first

Moonbow Academy is designed with special-needs families first. We believe every child should be able to learn calmly and independently, and we build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

What the experience includes today

  • Every screen is read aloud — a calm voice reads the lesson text with a tap of the listen button; no child needs to read to participate.
  • Large touch targets and generous spacing; lessons move at the child's own pace with no timers.
  • A quiet, sensory-safe design: no flashing, no loud surprises, and adjustable audio.
  • High-contrast, uncluttered visuals with consistent, simple layouts.
  • An optional TV / co-viewing mode so a caregiver can see the lesson on a bigger screen while the child works on the tablet.
  • Visual supports (mascot, pictures, and diagrams) paired with spoken and written text.

What we're working on

We are conducting a formal accessibility audit against WCAG 2.1 AA and will publish our Accessibility Conformance Report here as it becomes available. We welcome input from families and clinicians who use the product.

Feedback

If anything is hard to see, hear, or use, please tell us — we treat accessibility feedback as a design input, not an afterthought. Email accessibility@moonbow.app (or hello@moonbow.app) and a real person will respond.
